ABOUT GOLD SHOW
The Dawson City Chamber of Commerce enhances business growth and economic prosperity in Dawson City and the surrounding area.
The Dawson City Chamber of Commerce was first established in 1899 in an effort to increase development in the area. The placer mining industry has played a large part in the growth of Dawson City and the region. Recognizing the importance of placer mining to the region, the Dawson City Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Dawson, the Klondike Placer Mining Association and the Klondike Visitors Association, worked together to develop a trade show. The Dawson City International Gold Show was established in 1986 and has since become a highly anticipated annual event.
The Chamber of Commerce through the Gold Show strives to provide a meeting place for miners, their suppliers, and the government. The Gold Show celebrates Dawson’s gold rush heritage and contemporary mining in the Klondike. As the most Northern industry and consumer trade show for placer mining, the event encompasses the diverse and interconnected sectors of our regional economy. The Gold Show exposes people to new ideas and products that contribute to the success in the placer mining industry. Each year miners, equipment suppliers, service industry representatives, and others gather for the Dawson International Gold Show, evidence of the importance of the placer industry to the economy.
We are proud to celebrate Dawson’s Gold Rush heritage as well as contemporary mining in the Klondike.
We respectfully acknowledge that we work and live in the traditional territory of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in
